Greetings and Happy New Year! Now that the end of the calendar year, and fiscal year for some, is behind us, it is time to look ahead. You can't help but hear some piece of negative news if you pick-up a paper or turn on the news, but 2009 can be what you make of it.
We at Gilchrist Scott are excited for the coming year; we have several new projects we are working on and continue to grow as an organization. What this tells us is that yes, the climate has caused people to change some things about the way they do business, but for many, they are using this time to grow and build upon their solid foundation.
This often equates to looking at the way they do things, the systems they have already made investments in and seek out ways to improve upon them. Have you looked at Smartlist Builder lately? With its extraordinarily cool Excel Report Writer built right in, it provides an easy way to create reports and provide access to information in a way you have not had in the past. This is an extremely cost effective example of what many of our customers are doing to maximize their investment.
One last item: we are very excited to announce that our website has been revamped. It's got a new look and some new functionality we hope you will take advantge of. In addition to the website, we have launched the GSL Blog. Each of will be contributing, covering everything from best practices for business, cool new tools available to you and technology related things we think you would find valuable. Did you Know?
Reconcile Receivables Management and Payables Management to General Ledger
This reconcile process generates a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that can be used to match transactions in Payables Management or Receivables Management that have been posted to General Ledger. While this process doesn't generate correcting transactions, if they're needed, it can help identify transaction discrepancies between balances in General Ledger and the sub-ledgers.
