Database Too Big?
Company Data Archive (CDA) for Dynamics GP provides an easy way to move historical information from your 'live' company to another 'archive' company. Archiving your data will reduce the size of your live company database and improve system performance while posting, running reports, performing file maintenance, and the day-to-day use of Dynamics GP.

The case of the mysterious "R": Students understand today that Cr. can be related to the word "credit," but how does Dr. relate to the word "debit"? In short, where does the "r" come from in the abbreviation "Dr."? It comes from the Latin word debitore (meaning "debtor," and cousin of the word creditore, meaning "creditor"), first used by Pacioli in his book mentioned above.

This time of year also causes a shift in thinking; as a business, you may be starting to consider year-end at this point, evaluating current year budgets to see where you are and then looking at next year's budgets to see where you want to be. This is a great time of year to plan - afterall, next year holds alot of potential! We hope this installment finds you well and as always, know that we are your Partner and are striving to find ways to be a valuable resource for you.

GP User Group
Maine / NH Chapter
We are still looking to encourage the start of a local Dynamics GP User Group. Several people have expressed interest, but we need a leader! One thing we might consider is rotating who is leading the charge from meeting to meeting? I am going to be sending out a separate communication on this, so if you are interested in being part of that conversation, please shoot me an e-mail and I'll include you in the discussion.

Did you know?
Useful Tips for Dynamics GP
Top 10 Lists Using Smartlist Have you ever tried to setup a "top 10 list" using SmartList in GP? If you have, you already know it can be a little tricky. This is because the system wants to sort it by its default sorting criteria - not yours! For instance, if you want to get a "Top 10 Vendors by TYD Purchases", GP will pull the first 10 vendors based on the VendorID. To access step by step instructions on how to set this up, click on the link below. Even if you are not trying to track vendors, you can use the same principles in virtually any top 10 you are trying to create.

Do You Have a Roadmap?
I am not referring to DeLorme or Rand McNally, I mean a roadmap for your GP implementation? What do you plan to add? What new types of functionality will your business need in the months and years to come? What modules do you currently own that you are under-utilizing? More importantly, what is it all going to cost?
We have a very cool tool that allows us to figure some of this stuff out and the end result is a roadmap - a detailed view, based on your feedback, of what you want and when. This is an amazing tool for budgetary and resource planning. For more information, please contact us and we'll get a meeting set-up with your Account Manager.
