Job Description
The Dynamics GP Application Support Specialist works with team members and client companies in the installation, technical support and customization of accounting/business solutions using the Dynamics GP software system, MS SQL server technologies, Visual Studio and other tools. This position offers diversity in clients and projects, working as an integral member of a team environment, with the authority to interact with clients with autonomy and a high-level of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day technical application support for internal consulting staff and client companies via email, phone and on-site.
- Defining and developing reports using SQL Reporting Services and/or Crystal Reports
- Installing software within the Dynamics GP system including MS SQL, Crystal Reports, Web Services, and SQL Reporting Services.
- Performing technical upgrades & patches of Dynamics GP software for clients and internally
- Working closely with clients in the configuration and migration, including data conversion, from legacy systems to Dynamics GP.
- Performing and managing integration of customized solutions, as well as assisting implementation teams with system administration training issues.
- Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Required Skills
- Basic accounting understanding of General Ledger, Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing, Inventory & Bill of Material, Some Project Accounting.
- Microsoft Technologies: MS SQL Server with Transact SQL, Dynamics GP's SQL architecture, Visual Studio, Crystal Reports and/or SQL Reporting Services.
Desired Experience
- Dynamics GP installation, upgrades, data conversions, data repair, FRx, ReportWriter, Integration Manager and Modifier with VBA, Crystal Reports for Great Plains, MS Access - 2 years
- Microsoft SQL Server: working Transact SQL, Database Backup/Recovery - 5 years
- Crystal Reports: creation and modification of reports based on MS SQL views and stored procs

- Ability to work in a team environment on multiple concurrent projects

- Business process & systems analysis/design/integration skills
