Thank you to all who attended the GPUG (GP Users Group) meeting on Wednesday, September 21st!
One of the highlights of the meeting was a demo by Papersave. This company offers a flexible, scalable and secure document management solution that is built on Microsoft technology. This paperless solution seamlessly integrates with GP and CRM, providing the benefits of eliminating a paper based filing system. Going paperless offers many benefits including:

Microsoft Dynamics GP Payroll Tax Update Round 2 is now Available
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011We are pleased to inform you that Microsoft has released the US English version 10 FICA changes round 2 tax update. Versions 9.0 and GP 2010 to follow this week.
This is a 2 part install, the code (.exe file) and the tax table update. This is all noted in the documentation as well, you will need both.Once you install the code update, the new Dynamics version is 10.0.1685
Also under Tools | Setup | System | Payroll Tax, the last tax update and code update should be 1/20/2011 once both are installed.
After further testing, there are no changes to Payroll integration to Payables, so no extra install.
PDK will still be releasing a chunk file shortly. Integration manager and eConnect should work and will be included this field in the next service pack. However, the 941 report is still not calculating properly for line 6e. This is scheduled to be fixed in the next round due out in mid-February.
The 941 Prep report and the 941 Schedule B Prep report should all print correct numbers after the update (excluding line 63). Those are two areas besides posting journals (and check history if you drag out new fields) that customers can verify numbers against. The actual 941 form, due to it not being final, will be updated in a later code release. Waiting for the final form at this point from IRS, still in draft format.

A lot of the same functionality found in FRx exists within Management Reporter as well as a lot of additional functionality. Some of the highlights include:

With the new e-mail functionality in Microsoft Dynamics GP you can embed documents into the body of an email or send as an attachment!
Home Page
· View Reminders as Cues
You can choose to view pre-defined reminders as text or cues on your home page. A cue is an icon that increases or decreases in height to indicate the number of records in a particular reminder category.
· View Reporting Services Metrics!
· Create your own metrics on your home page!
Lookups
· Set a default view for many lookup windows!
Define and save a default lookup view for your master records. This is available for Item, Account, Employee, Customer, Vendor, and Salesperson lookups!
Microsoft Dynamics Online Connect
Connect displays a series of slides that allow you to perform self-help support, get information and perform training from the Microsoft Dynamics GP home page!
Navigation Pane
Now you have control over which series buttons and associated lists for modules display for users!
Right-click menu enabled
You can right-click in a text or numeric field to see a shortcut menu which contains options from the Edit menu!
Security
· Display security roles and tasks
Restrict roles and tasks assigned to a user instead of viewing all tasks, roles, and items!
· Copy user security settings
Save time and improve accuracy by copying one user’s security settings to another!
· Automatically log on to GP and a company
Users now have the option to log on to GP and a specific company automatically!
Word Templates
Predefined Word templates for several document types based on the standard reports in GP. Create your own or modify an existing template, and then assign the template to a company!
