Convergence 2010: Should I Bother?

My immediate answer to this, every year is always YES and here is why:

  • It is far and away Microsoft’s largest user conference;
  • Unrivaled access to the actual Microsoft employees who create and support the product you depend on for your day to day activities in your business;
  • Countless learning events throughout the week, including several different tracts depending on your industry and role;
  • Networking events are plentiful; where else will you have the opportunity to talk to other businesses very similar to yours, who use GP and find out what works well for them?

I Told You Rockton’s Mentor Product Was Cool!

If you follow the Gilchrist Scott newsletter, you know that the latest installment had me touting the benefits of Rockton’s Mentor Software application. Well, I was excited to see that I am not alone in my thoughts… Mariano Gomez, who authors The Dynamics GP Blogster, recently posted some great feedback on Rockton’s Mentor application. So, if you have any interest in learning how to navigate around Dynamics GP any better or find yourself looking for the field containing the data you need for a report, you really should give Mentor a look.

Dynamics GP Surprises for Quickbooks Users

A great deal of new customers we work with are interested in migrating off of an entry level accounting solution like Quickbooks or Peachtree and into an integrated solution. When a company starts using Microsoft Dynamics GP, there are a number of items that they find very surprising. Next Gen FRx Management Reporter Beta Program Announced

Microsoft has just announced the planned release of Management Reporter for Dynamics ERP for January 2010. Management Reporter is the next step in the upgrade path for FRx 6.7. The beta release will work with both GP versions 10 and “11″, although the final release will only work with “11″. Do you use FRx alot? Are you interested in a wizard driven solution? SP4 for Dynamics GP v10

SP4 for GP v10 has been released. This is an especiialy important service pack to implement if you are running payroll. There are a couple of “hot fixes” to also run if you are using Smartlist Builder, for example. Visit this page on CustomerSource to learn more and to download the service pack for Dynamics GP 10. Dynamics GP Service Pack 4 Now Available

Microsoft Dynamics GP Service Pack 4 is now available for download. Among other items, the long anticipated update to Extender is included as part of this Service Pack.

Accounting, Job Cost & Business Management Software: Reengineer or Replace?
