I was surfing the Internet and looking for some information and I came across an excerpt of Microsoft Dynamics GP for Dummies and one of the sections was entitled “Keeping Your CPA Happy“. I included the link to the excerpt above and I encourage you to check it out. It reinforces a lot of what we talk about with prospective customers. Many of them are using accounting packages that do not have things like audit trails - or they can be turned off - thus allowing records and transactions to be deleted with no record of who or when. Potentially worse, orphan records can be left behind, waiting to cause you (or your bookkeeper or your CPA) major heartburn down the road. Why gamble with that? Dynamics GP also offers advanced tracking capability available in the Audit Trails module. For example, you are able to view before and after versions of records to see exactly what was changed, who changed it and when - you get to decide what to track.
